Courtesy light placement

I've already wired my new courtesy lights from American Autowire I'm just curious as to where exactly they go under my 72 dash any help appreciated with pictures thank you

The bulbs are real close to the cowl vent pull knobs.

I just went ahead a placed them on existing holes they could reach I'll have to correctly drill holes at a later time but for now they work

I think your passenger side light is pretty in much the factory spot.

I believe so as well the glove box door arm hits it when raised up to the dash so I'll have to move it a tiny bit so I dont run into any problems there. as far as the driver side goes the wire is short for some reason more research involved there.

I have a clutch on my '71 GMC Jimmy, so I couldn't have the courtesy light where you have yours, it would get smashed by the clutch pedal slamming back between shifts.
I just measured mine. It's a "Custom" trim level truck so the original owner paid for all the chrome, bells and whistles. [Some of which I've had the 'fun' of restoring.]
The hole for the drivers side lamp is exactly 6" from the left inside wall.

Right I wanted it up higher than the column brace but for some reason the kit gives me a short wire

Splice on a jumper and hang it where you want it.
