i have some hooker headers on my truck? will the reuglar hi temp accel wires work?

i was at pepboys and i was about to buy the $27 blue accel wires and then i noticed they had a set of black performance accel wires designed for extreme heat and vehicles with headers, took it up to the counter to buy and then i found out they were $90! eek. do i have to buy wires like that or will the cheap $27 hi temp accels work?

im also buying some new spark plugs, i have some bosch plugs in there now, theyre gapped to .028 is that right?

I have the black wires on my truck....Accel 300+ race wires.....$65,you need to look around. If you arent in a hurry,try summit or Jegs. When i installed the hooker comps on the longhorn,I needed to replace #5 wire with a 135 plug boot. all the rest fit with a 90 boot. I picked up 1 MSD 8 mm wire at the speed shop,& liked it better than the Accel's. good luck.....69 longhorn.

Don't buy local by from Summit or Jegs alot cheaper. I ran both regular Accels, and High temp 8.8, now I tried the Accel Armor coated wires, cut to fit, and they are awsome look very nice, and when you cut to fit your own wires they are perfect how you want them. They where very easy to do also.

You get what you pay for.

I used Lincoln HEI spark plug wires. They are HI Temp, 8.6mm, 45 deg angle spark plug ends.

Found the wires at my local U-PULL-It wrecking yard. They charge by a set of eight, $10.00, went through several cars to find the longest wires or lenghts required, cleaned then to find any cracks or burns. Purchased wire looms that fitted to lower valve cover holes, keeps the wires above the headers. As long as you are at the wrecking yard, collect an assortment of the black plastic wire seperators (2-3-4 wires), use these from the HEI to the valve cover wire looms.
