Re: Fuel tank liner

Years ago I bought tank sealer from aviation supply house. Used a product they recommended to flush the tank and then sealer. Used a chunk of chain in tank with cleaner to knock any loose stuff off. Figured if it was good enough for aviation it would be just fine for my ‘55. Pulled tank years later to go with fuel injection tank and still looked great.

Re: Fuel tank liner

I have sealed many tanks in the past, lots of motorcycle tanks. The last car tank I sealed was a few years back. I used Northern Radiator tank liner kit, worked well. One kit will do up to 20 gallons.

Re: Fuel tank liner

RedKote you can get it at Oreilly's. don't forget to flush the tank out first and get all the rust out. If you can get the tank acid dipped first and then coat it. We have a local place that will dip the tank and coat it for a little over 100$. but we have an acid bath here at work and i leave the tank in there over the weekend and take it home and coat it myself.

Re: Fuel tank liner

Isn't a new tank around $100? I'm pretty sure that's all I paid for one a couple years ago.

OK it must be the 55. I was thinking it was the 81. Good luck.
