Square body 1989 single cab?

Just purchased this from the State of Wyoming thinking it was 85-87 vintage. Door tag, title, and all paperwork shows 1989. It's got a TBI 454. Anybody ran into this before?

Not sure on the winch brand. It's a pretty low miler with dump box as well. I would have called BS earlier today! You just never can tell! Harlow

I was bidding on this truck. In the Q & A section on the auction site I posted that the VIN came back as a 1989. It went for way more $$$ than I was willing to pay. If you decide to put a dually bed on it you'll have to shorten the frame by about 4" for it to fit properly.

Re: Square body 1989 single cab?

Thanks for the info. I think I'll leave the flatbed on for now. I was glad to see it's a fuel injected truck. Baffling they stuck to the carbureted 1985 details after seeing all of the paperwork and maintenance records stating it's a 1989. Is the wheelbase 4" longer or just the rear frame section? Harlowhead

That thing looks very clean, nice score.

Why on earth would a guy want to take off a working dump and put a dually bed on it?

Re: Square body 1989 single cab?

Roger, I just figure most guys take dually beds off to make the truck more useful. To each his own.

I'm considering yanking my 454 out of my dually flatbed and replacing with a 6 cylinder. I suppose most folks would consider that blashepmy, but it makes good sense for my situation.

Nice. I like it! That huge winch and bumper is really cool. Does it still work?

Re: Square body 1989 single cab?

std cab long bed = 131.5"
reg c&c trucks = 135"
longer ones can be had with wheel base over 160"

and for what its worth my friend put a box on a 135" c&c frame and to the untrained eye you cant tell much . if anything i think it should have been that way back in the day .
