Home built/custom rocker boxes
I was wondering how many people have made there own rocker boxes. I was thinking of doing this since the boxes are so expensive when you add in shipping. This is the only picture i could find of one done

I wish i would have done this. This seems like the way to go. Not only are you saving money but the floor will be stronger.

There are a lot Of Guys that 4x there trucks that gut out the rocker boxes and rockers and replace them with 2x4 rock sliders that connect to the frame and replace the rockers and boxes. You could do The same and keep The rockers and just do like the guy above and weld in the seam to the edge of the 2x4 slider. Look up rock sliders and see what comes up. Should give you a few more ideas to Look at.

The issue isn't the floor, it's the firewall moving around without the support of the rocker boxes. (messing with the door opening)

Im thinking of building something similar to whats above. But I think the floor is boxed to prevent flexing in the floor, to stop the firewall from moving forward and backward, and to stop tha bed sides from flexing inward. So I am going to tie all three together. I may consider adding a brace inside the cab extending from the side to the floor behind the seats, similar to what I have seen on here.
