Palf70step
Does a wonderful job with Truck of the Month

I have seen other members volunteer to help on the main page
But nobody from the site ever responds to those comments

As far as I’m concerned this site, and all the people I meet from it are great
But
Many people have left for other social media
I have tried that too, but I like the format of a forum, where there is feedback and open conversation to a thread. I think it makes for better camaraderie.

And I totally agree with Advance Design
I post a lot of pics, but it is
Slow and cumbersome compared to other social media

members can help the main page by reporting posts they want to see there. I have posted asking that off and on for years with no response too Mods helped for a while but it is a lot to put on folks. I wish anyone could just help with content on the main page, but it is not user driven like a wiki. Only 1 or two admins have the ability.

As for pictures I get it. However facebook, ig etc have way more resource for upload than most any forum. There is no way to compare the two.

Do you use an ipad or? Curious about the 1 upload deal

Re: WDYWOOTW the 2018 edition

Thanks for trying what AD was talking about
and responding to this thread you started

I don’t know enough about how websites work but I get the whole
Lack of recourses

I post 99% from my iPhone

If you try to load more than 2 photos at once
You get this

Edit: This Has always happened with my older phones as well as iPad’s
And a new iPhone 10 as well

Thanks for checking. Sorry, I don’t participate in any other forums so I haven’t tried. Will see if it will work on forums I use to frequent.

Unsuccessful in trying to upload two pictures from IPad on LS1Tech. Couldn’t upload one photo from the IPad either.

I agree with Chevyland, FB is easy for uploads and I too prefer this format for discussion and builds. It lends more solidity and continuity.

Re: WDYWOOTW the 2018 edition

ahh security tokens are evil I have no idea on the iphone issues.. I will try to find out and see what we can do. I don't use i phone, ipad etc so its all foreign to me. Im not above trying to find a solution .

as for the difference between social media sites and ours is pretty much like walmart vs the family owned corner store.

AD thanks for trying over there. I have no idea why I didnt think to do that using her ipad lol..

Re: WDYWOOTW the 2018 edition

I don't know why people seem to use one OR the other. Why not some of both? FB is TOO fluid. It's just a bunch of one line momentary blab to me, and often goes back to what's already been said over and over already, like no one reads, just post. On forums it's all there to be found later if need be. You come back the next day and a thread is still there, even if it's a page or two back. And, this forum's divided up into specific segments

I'd really like to see seperate sub sections for 47 to 55.1 and 55.2 to 59.

Re: WDYWOOTW the 2018 edition

That's weird about the iPad photos, I can upload more than 1 pic per post. Most of my posts and pics are done from my iPad. Granted it's still a pain, but you have to upload 1 pic, add another and upload it, add another and upload it. But you don't have to have a separate post just to add another photo. Hope that makes sense. It would be easier to do, as if you were on a computer.
So to add to this, It would nice to have the ability to add short videos.

Re: WDYWOOTW the 2018 edition

That's how Craigslist is. I post one at a time, then go back to edit each on in separately. And that is from my laptop. I used to have to do what TKCR said from my laptop here. I can't post videos from my folders at all. That security token thing. Hey, I'm not security threat! Gimme my token

They were separate for many years. They ended up combined due to lack of posting.

I get this exact same error on my desktop when the file size is too large.

Newer devices take large pics. I've always had to reduce my pic sizes for posts. Something that automatically reduces photo sizes down like facespace uses would be awesome.

Like, for my huge renovation thread, when I have a lot of pics, I usually put them on facespace then pull them from there to post here as they've been automatically reduced.

Re: WDYWOOTW the 2018 edition

Maybe a sub-cat in the 67-72 area for the 68 Golden Anniversary pickups. Not that many made, but interesting "Golden" only stuff on these pickups...

Maybe another sub section in 67-72 (and maybe all sections) for unusual options, or oddities...

Thanks for asking!!!

If you would, try starting a post gauging interest in this. I am curious how many folk would have good info to share.

Re: WDYWOOTW the 2018 edition

I too think that Home page needs a face lift, it's a poor representation of the site.

Here's what I would do. All that verbiage, parse it down. Maybe something like.

67-72 Truck Fourm worlds largest classic truck data repository.
An open meida for classic chevy trucks . With a big fat search box!

Below the minimalist verbiage, instead of what looks like forum threads. Gut that. If you're having trouble keeping dynamic content updated... make it a static magazine layout.

Have pictures with captions that look like magazine covers to articles/threads. Have a few. Make them link to a thread or article that corresponds to the cover.

You have the content, display it! There are a crap load of cool "how to" threads here. You can appeal to customizers, daily drivers, just keep the junk running types, you have it all. Stickies are nice but they blend and are on the forums. Let your home page show what's in here.... there's a lot.

My two cents, keep up the great work!
