Stockinteriors.com Shipment

Received my floor mats yesterday and my carpet today. Very dissatisfied with the shipping. The boxes used for shipment were not meant to be shipped. Arrived very beat up, looked like pretzels. Also, there were gaping openings at the box seams. Staples were stapled into nothing. This was my first, and last order from Stockinteriors.com.

Now for my question. Note how the folds of the carpet are discolored. Makes the carpet look like it has been folded for years. Do you think it is damaged?

Re: Stockinteriors.com Shipment

lay it flat and see what the top side of the carpet looks like, It seems pretty thin, did you order mass backing? I installed a stock interiors carpet in my 77. it fit good except it was a bit loose around the trans hump. It took a while to lay flat as I got the thicker mass backing.

You should see some of the boxes I get at work, broken open with boot prints on them. Very few companies ship items properly.

Re: Stockinteriors.com Shipment

That was probably drop shipped from ACC. Mine arrived looking much the same.

Everything I have received lately looks like that. Including a laptop computer. Sad state of affairs in the shipping world.

Re: Stockinteriors.com Shipment

I did get the mass backing. Guess this is not an isolated shipping experience. That's sad. Whoever shipped it (I will have to dig out the boxes and look) should not have shipped it in those flimsy boxes. Major fail!

Re: Stockinteriors.com Shipment

ACC has been shipping their carpets in those same boxes for decades ,The most important thing to do is remove the carpet from the box and lay it out flat to relive the "box wrinkles" from it being folded up and shoved in that wonderful shipping box , Laying it out on your driveway on a hot sunny day works the best to relax the wrinkles , DON"T store it in the box , Here are some install tips from the ACC site . https://www.accmats.com/how-to-tutorials/

ACC is a drop ship manufacture of hundreds of different auto carpets , They are made when they are ordered so your new carpet is just days old when you get it . They do it this way to avoid having thousands of different styles of carpet sitting in an expensive warehouse space . Take it out of the box . Most orders are produced and shipped within 24 to 48 hours

If your not ready to install it when it arrives find someplace to store it flat until your ready , In the back of your truck or under your bed works until your wife thinks it's a hairy monster practical joke and then your sleeping on the couch for the next few months !

Re: Stockinteriors.com Shipment

I don't see this as being a stockinteriors.com issue, other than they were the middleman in your transaction. And besides, it's carpet.

Re: Stockinteriors.com Shipment

The decolorization appears to be on the underside of the carpet, so I don't see the issue with that. As Grumpy said you can get the folds out of it.
