For extra capacity that long one I mentioned earlier is nice, that is the one used on C40s and bigger in the 70s/80s. I used to run it on my K20 square body and it didn't cost any ground clearance. The PF1218 is the Delco replacement for a PF35 and is available on Amazon and other places for a reasonable price. I have not used one in a long time because it is more PF25 size and I want all the filter media I can get. Probably not necessary as the LS filters are smaller diameter and those last forever, but I like a bigger filter that makes me feel better about it.
PF35's are still available too- they're the classic/retro looking filter painted white. RockAuto has both the PF35 and PF35L, they're pricey but my K20 doesn't get more than 1500 miles a year on it lately so once a year I can deal with it. Otherwise I'd run a PF1218 or AMSOIL EAO24.

Guess I can't argue with that. I knew that the Corvette/Camaro/Chevelle restoration places had them, but had assumed they were not commonly available. Maybe what I should have said was that Delco quit making the blue PF25 and PF35 in about 2002. Apparently the 35 has made a comeback as Rock Auto and Orieleys (and others) do list it and show it in the "classic" white paint scheme. They are about 2-3 times the price of a 1218 or a Wix and more than a PF35L. The PF35L has a synthetic element where the PF35 had a paper element. I suspect that the current PF35 could just be a PF35L with different paint on the can?

There was a discussion on PF35 vs: PF35L here many years ago

One of the reasons I ran one on my diesel. The oil still had a golden color to it when I would drain it, not the jet back soot filled color were used to seeing with diesel oil.
