Which door weatherstripping?

I see Steele Rubber part# 60-0416-72
and Soft Seal part # SS-9005.
Any experience with one over the other?

I haven't, but I've heard good things about Softseal.

Try "Softseal" in the search bar and you'll find lots of posts about it.

Re: Which door weatherstripping?

Steele Rubber is twice the price as SoftSeal. I wasn't sure if it was a case of "you get what you pay for" or not.
I don't know about the cheap overseas stuff. I believe both of these brands are manufactured in the USA.

Times 2 . Buy Steele for more money. As they say it takes a rich man to buy cheap parts as you have to do it over and over again. Buy it once.

Sounds like you can't go wrong here, between these two. My Soffseal gaskets were put on my '55 Chevy in 1981. They're still as new, as are the ones on my '68 GTO. Sounds like Steele and Soffseal are both great products.

I never tried the Steele products, but once you venture away from those or Soffseal, you're on your own. All of us with experience know that somebody out there is making crap. My vent window weatherstripping in my '55 disintegrated in 2 years. I think I knew who sold it, but since I'm not sure, I'm not saying...

Yes, I've tried both as well as OEM products from truck equipment mfg.s. SOFF SEAL is the best in my opinion and they're still good as new years after. Best product out there for these trucks.
