I cannot guide you towards anyone in your area however, pictures of what you are starting with will always help.

I don't know if you have any Maaco paint shops in Texas, but thats who I use.
Inexpensive but decent. I had several cars and trucks done and it always worked out. My last was my 72 suburban done in two tone for $1800.00
They had it for about two weeks.

LD automotive in Frisco did some work for me. They’ve got a speed shop there and enjoy working on classics.

Seem to be a good bunch of folk and they treated me right. Was happy with their work!

Speaking of Maaco....a guy I know had his squarebody painted at the Maaco in Plano recently and they did a really nice job for cheap.

There is also Brian Vastine - https://www.facebook.com/VastinesPaintGarage/

I guess Maaco could be good but I would suggest that you do as much body prep work as possible before you send it to them.

Every Maaco is different. The last one I used over-sprayed my cragars and my engine and never did any of the media blasting I paid them extra for (surprise visits about 3 weeks into the process are a good recommendation) - they just sprayed primer over about 10 old coats of paint. Never again (and that was over 30 years ago)

I am in the paint & body business and I will tell you that Maaco is geared toward production. Get it in and get it out! The materials they use are not the best either. The paint will dull down after a couple of years. Not a bad place to take a beater for a freshening up but something nice I would go elsewhere. Not here to bash Maaco, but you get what you pay for.

I'm not bashing maaco but I'm wanting a lot better job than that. I'm not looking for a bargain. I don't mind taking it to Houston or Dallas area ether.

Maco Sprays what you bring them. ... You must do 100% of the prep work,
and over spray protection.

Yep. I bought a wrecked s10 ss about 17 years ago and fixed it up. My boss at the time convinced me to let maaco paint it. I didnt pay much, but I got even less. Like the other fella said, never again!

Re: overall paint job texas

This is easy. Go to your nearest auto body supply. Introduce yourself to the counter guy. Tell him what kind of truck you have. Ask who buys from them that is capable of a very nice job in a short time frame. They will know. All the guys in the biz doing sidejobs that halfway know what they're doing will buy there, not from Summit or O'reillys. Great way to get anything skilled trade done right at a discount........just ask at the supply house.

Sounds like you're in my neck of the woods.. Railyard Custom & Collision in Palestine does very nice work. They're working on a project for me as I type this. Warren Body Shop located between Elkhart and Palestine also has a good reputation although Mr. Warren told me personally he's cutting back on the custom jobs..
