Sold my 1990 Chevy Sport

https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTL1gTmEX/
Driver picked it up today to take to the new owner in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Y’all might see it on the road. Driver said he’s heading to Kentucky, then up to Michigan, and then on to Calgary.

I hated to see it go. 🥹

Re: Sold my 1990 Chevy Sport

I hope your happy and the buyer is as well. Ever heard of buyers remorse? I usually have sellers remorse. I let my 2012 SS Camaro convertible (Arrest me Red) with 8000 mile go a few years back. The guy was an electrician did some work around here and rode me like the orphanage pony to sell it to him. I still kick myself in the backside. I had no need to sell it. I did make some money on it.

I didn’t drive the truck much and couldn’t keep that black paint clean to save my life! I was always scared of scratching the paint. I made some money on it. I’m OK with it, but I will miss it.

Well I bet you will be back in another one before long. Black vehicles are beautiful but I will not likely own one.

That is exactly how I felt about the big block '78 short bed I owned in the early-80s. I couldn't stand to see it anything less than spotless clean and it was my driver other than for work. The color was mahogany with a black tonneau cover. I decided I was more of a 4wd guy and those are ok with a little dirt on them. I sold it to a guy who kept badgering me to sell it. I made money on that as well.

A couple old faded out prints is all I have

I will not ever buy another black vehicle.

My dad is 82 and rarely drives anymore. I’m an only child and he gave me his 2003 Silverado. I’m a cat eye guy now. Drives fantastic! I’m not sold on the look, though. Not a pretty looking truck, in my opinion.

That was a good looking truck. My dad still has his 87 GMC Sierra. Them Squarebody trucks were great!!! And so we’re the times they were being made.

Re: Sold my 1990 Chevy Sport

Thanks, that '78 was loaded. I had a Rancho drop kit for it but was waiting till I got new wheels and tires that would fit (rear). Back then it was axle-flip the rear and cut the front coils.

I hated the '03-'07s at first. But I grew to like that chiseled look, same as Cadillacs have. They got a lot better looking when the new '07s came out

Re: Sold my 1990 Chevy Sport

I don't own a "cat eye" but I agree with you on the looks. You can add a billet grille insert and helps it a lot. I recall Foose owned one like that. It does make the front end look nicer.

Re: Sold my 1990 Chevy Sport

Those trucks are hot and will rise in value. I know better than to price my 98. I've had too many people approach me through the years. There is a time to move on.

That was a nice truck. I had a 1991 Sport in white. Bucket seats and 5 speed. Many times I wish I had never let it go.

I was wondering. Seems like you got that Sport just a little while (a few years probably) ago. But you have something else to drive now.

Yeah, I bought it with some money my mother left me after she passed away in June, 2020. I just had to do something that I know she would have wanted me to do, which was NOT just put it in the bank and sit on it. That truck was great find and it gave me something to get my mind off my grief and seemed to really cheer me up. I went to a lot of car shows in it and won some trophies. It really was an eye catcher!

I honestly hated driving it, though, because I didn't want to get it dirty because I would have to wash it and might scratch the paint. Aint that crazy? I mean it! That's just crazy illogical on my part.

So my dad turned 82 and doesn't drive very much anymore and he had already given me his dad's '67 F100. Now he's given me his '03 Silverado. I'm an only child, and I've always known someday the day will come when I'll end up with all of my parent's things. I'm not ready just yet, though.

The '03 drives great, though, and is really super nice. It has 58K miles on it and is still almost new-like inside.

My friend had a white Sport back in those days.....90, 91, 92??? It was a sharp truck!!! He totally ragged it out and wrecked it eventually, but I remember how cool that truck was when he used to come to town and cruise in it!

They made way way more black ones than red ones and white ones.

Re: Sold my 1990 Chevy Sport

Here's what I'm in now................Ole Purple.

I've found a guy near me with some really nice 18" Chevy takeoffs with almost new tires on them. Probably gonna upgrade to those soon.

Here's a white one I found on the internet with the same kind of wheels.....I like that look.

I think that's the dilemma in having a really nice truck that is increasing in value. (Un)fortunately, I don't have that much of a problem with mine, haha. It might be increasing in value a couple hundred dollars a year. But it'd be hard to say that all of my thinking with regard to the trucks is rational or logical. It only has to make sense to me In the final analysis, I can see selling a truck that's taking up garage space and resources if the upkeep is keeping you from driving it. My solution is to buy beat up trucks so that they've already got the wear and tear and nowhere to go but up ; )

That's about the same color my '78 was. Looks great shined up. I like to so the later wheels on the earlier trucks.

I never had on early '90s Sport but I bought a bunch of promos ate the Chevy dealer. Not sure why, but I bought all white ones. I think it was because I knew there were less out there. so later in years an owner would really like to find that promo. I used to get a 30% discount, so I was buying up promos when the dealerships were selling them back then
