Replacing the wood and strips on an 82 Step side long bed.

Hello all,

ok. I ordered the kit from LMC. It was late and I missed where it says that the kits are not drilled. I call to ask if there was tech support to ask if I need to off set the side angles or what. No support I asked if there was a templet. No.
LMC is useless in my opinion.

Can any shed some light on this? Do I offset or just hold the side angle flush to the board?

Thanks in advance.

I just did this last week.

You hold the side boards up next to the angle strips and mark where the studs are. Then measure in 11/16 from the edge and drill a 3/8 hole. Then slot the hole to the edge with a jigsaw.

My stuff came from Mar-K who makes it and sells to LMC. The difference is since Mar-K makes it for LMC they know how to install it and they include directions. Can you tell I don't care for LMC much ?

Sorry about the excessively large pictures but I want you to be able to see the directions clearly.

Leave everything loose until you have all strips and boards in place. You want to be able to shift the boards left or right as needed to get their grooves to fall under the divider strips properly. Then once you have all bolts in holes and everything in place, adjust boards as needed and start tightening bolts down. If you do it this way you will wind up with a very nice finished product.

I'm kind of technically challenged as far as having a scanner or anything. Do you reckon if I took pictures of each page that would help you ?
