Re: What's a good power disc brake kit?

I found this kit on Summits sit. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/ssb-a126-71

The only issue I'm seeing with it is that it says stock wheels will not fit with these rotors. Right now I'm trying to keep the 15x9 steel wheels on it. Will these not fit?

That is the same kit as mine. What they mean by stock wheels not working with the kit is you must have wheels that clear the calipers. The older 6 bolt rims don't. I used 15x6 from an 81 4x4 and they look stock. 6 bolt rally rims work with this kit as well.

And if you require dust shields and you can fab a bit buy some gm car 67 70 shields and make a minor modification. Looks like it could have come stock!

Nice! Actually, I believe my wheels are 80's 4x4 wheels. Mine have four ears, rather than three.

Will I need to change anything under the dash, such as your brake pedal?

Yep those are the same as mine. Just 8" wide and mine are 6". You don't have to change the pedals.

Re: What's a good power disc brake kit?

I think I've found a set up that will work but, I wanted to get y'alls opinion. I believe I can use the Scarebird disc kit with a stock '68 booster. Thoughts?

68 booster is drum / drum brakes. You need 71-72 booster / m/c / PORP VALVE setup

So if I just wanted to keep my drums on, I can run a stock booster for '68? Would I need to change the pedal?
