Converting my 95 TBI to carburetor
I have a 350 out of a 95 Chevy truck that I dropped into my 65 C20. I've already swapped the intake out for an aluminum, 4 barrel, spread bore intake from an 80's Camaro. I also installed an Accel HEI distributor. I'm thinking about putting a quadrajet on it but I'm really looking for some suggestions on carbs for it. If you have suggestions or links you could share to give me an idea which way to proceed I would greatly appreciate it.

Re: Converting my 95 TBI to carburetor
All I can think of is a Holley QJ replacement, but not sure they were popular. I have a few 650CFM ones lying around. The QJ might be a better option or not--people get mad at the QJ; and Holleys. Either way you need a carb, a rebuild, set up linkage, and tune.
What's your experience, interest in learning and doing some work (saving money if it all works), or spending money to save effort and time? |

Re: Converting my 95 TBI to carburetor
Thanks for the info. I have very limited experience when it comes to putting together a whole truck. I'm very mechanically inclined and I'm pretty good at figuring stuff out but I find myself looking on YouTube and Google all the time for help. I went to auto tech school for about 18 months then transferred over to aircraft maintenance school. So I definitely have a little bit of knowledge and skill. I'd definitely like to grab a quadrajet and rebuild kit and just give it a shot on my own. If I grab a quadrajet, should I get one that's for an 80's model or something pre 1980? Or is there that much of a difference? I guess Ebay I wonder is, can I get the wrong carb?
