saddle paint colour

My 66 gmc was originally a saddle color. I tried searching but am having trouble finding this colour in todays paint.

Also, I was going to do acrylic enamel, but am also considering base clear.
Any pros or cons on either one. ITs a home paint job.

Thanks for any help
Mike

Re: saddle paint colour

How about a single stage urethane like BASF UNO? You can even clear it if you know what you're doing.

Re: saddle paint colour

Basecoat/Clearcoat. Enamel will never give you the results the new paints will. Any good auto paint store should be able to mix the factory color, they have for me on various 60-66's. If they can't or won't, find another paint store.

Re: saddle paint colour

I am also going with saddle and have been test spraying in this thread. Scroll down to post #17 in the thread. I went to my local PPG paint store andtold them it was "GM saddle 555 metallic two tone" according to this sheet I'm attaching. Ill post the paint can too.
