Re: 60-66 hood and grille combos

Does anyone know if there are more pics of the black truck in post #14? This is the paint scheme I am going with and I noticed the dash is painted red. I was wondering if there were any shots of the interior of this truck?

Re: 60-66 hood and grille combos

Quite a few years ago I built a 62 C10 short stepside with 36 chrome kitchen drawer pulls for a grill... always had fun with that at cruises.

I have a chrome 66 GMC grill that might get the same treatment for old times sake.

Wouldn't be interested in selling just that grill guard would you Jolly? If no on the sale, would you mind taking some pictures of it, and some measurements? I would like to have that on my beast, either an original one, or I can build my own. I contacted Bustin about any original information, but they no longer have anything. A.T. Rockdriller has one on his truck too. He was going to send me some pictures and measurements, but I haven't heard back from him, and he hasn't been on here in a while.

Re: 60-66 hood and grille combos

I posted before about liking the "fuller" look of the '63 grills without the large gap at the top that 64-66 grills have. I did this photoshop and forgot to post it.

Normal.

One row added to the height.

Also the front fenders seem wider than the hood by quite a bit.

Looks like whats throwing it off is the front bumper has been flipped?

On second look that's not it either, ignore me, carry on......

Same truck with a 1960 grill with a polished aluminum bar insert.

Elnutty - it's the bomb without the mesh - love the "puddy" color too - SWEET truck fo sho!

Re: 60-66 hood and grille combos

here are a couple cool combos:
1st 2 are with a 64-66 cabover grille, it is similar to a big truck grille, but it has the Chevrolet logo stamped in the top bar like a c/10(he has removed the bow tie from the center)

the 2nd 2 are a chrome plated big truck grille (64-66 c60-80) with the letter bar removed from the top and placed in the center.

This one right here is a winner. Best look I've seen so far.
