Question Site Merchandise

Thought I would help support the site. Bought a hat and coffee mug. Disappointed. Both have "made in China" stickers. A site dedicated to old "US" trucks selling China products! Just seems wrong. End of rant

Re: Site Merchandise

Where would you find "made in the USA" products from a bulk supplier? I haven't been able to, if you can find em please let me know. It would be cool info. I just bought some parts at the Harley dealer in Harley packages and they say "made in china" too. I think it's the world we are stuck in.

Re: Site Merchandise

I hope the fine finishings on your coffee mug aren't to out of spec being from China and all.

Also just an FYI, if it wasn't for these "China products" we wouldn't have any of the suspension or reproductions parts that are so easily available to keep these old "US Trucks" alive. Just saying.

"Made in the USA" hasn't meant good quality for a loooooooooong time, sorry to burst your bubble.

Guess those guys parting trucks out are crazy. As are the used parts buyers. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Posted mine and so have you. I'll stick with "Made in America", when I have the option.

You used a key statement that I think most of us agree on "when I have the option". We don't always have that option though. I'm not arguing just pointing out the facts of the manufacturing world we live in. Hope everyone has an awesome day. This thread reminded me to look at my expensive "Flex Fit" hat. It's made in Bangladesh, dang imagine that Even the SF Giants can't find a place to get em

Re: Site Merchandise

If they were made in USA the price would be 3x higher and nobody would buy it. The consumer has spoken.

Re: Site Merchandise

The site merchandise is run through a company. If we made it, it would indeed be made in the USA. Unfortunately I have zero time to make shirts, aside the ones I do for my kids.

As for now, as per the cafe press site, the following are the items made in the USA. I am sure you could email and explain your disappointment and trade it for something on the list.

Quote:
Which of your products are made in the USA?

Here is a list of products that are made in the USA: All Buttons, Magnets, Stickers & unframed Posters, Greeting Cards, Note Cards, Postcards, Books, Journal, Classic Thong, Dog T-Shirt, Organic Fitted T-Shirt, Organic Women’s Fitted T-Shirt, Organic Toddler T-Shirt, Organic Kid T-Shirt, Baby Organic T-Shirt, Baby Organic Bodysuit, Fitted T-Shirt, Jr. Hoodie, Jr. Raglan, Jr. Spaghetti Tank, Throw Pillow, Yard Sign and Banner.

Re: Site Merchandise

I remember being disappointed to see made in Japan on a Genuine GM wheel bearing I bought from the parts dept. back in the '90s. I went to the dealer for a tailgate cable for my '92 and was handed one made in China. Some of what's being sold as N.O.S. is actually reproduction (GM Restoration Parts) made in Taiwan.

Just an FYI for you DBK81, China makes a lot more products than truck parts. They also make Rockets and 107mm Mortars. I have personally encountered said products while deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. 1,580 Canadians were killed or wounded in Afghanistan. Just a heads up, I would hate for a combat vet to put a Canadian made boot in your well, you know what I mean.
