Rear end ratio

I’ve trying searching and I’m not seeing the numbers on my 12 bolt in my 71 listed on any of the posted sheets on the form and interwebs. Can anyone I’d what ratio this should be. Of coarse i can open it up and count, but I’d like to know now what might be inside! It has a posi tag on it. Feels like there is a posi inside.

Re: Rear end ratio

I'm not sure those numbers will correlate with the ratio, but would be cool if it did.. pulling the cover and looking at the numbers on the ring are easier, but the garage smells funny for a while afterwards!

Re: Rear end ratio

Thanks for starting this post. It inspired me after work to change the gear oil in my HO72 and find out exactly what I had for gears. 7-32 stamped on the ring gear, 4.57 gear ratio. I knew it was low. lol
