What rear end do I have

my truck is a 72 C20 402 BBC. It has 8 lugs 10 bolts holding on the rear cover. PO welded up some sort of cheesy bracket or brace for the pan hard bar bracket. I think he told me he had to put a different rear end cause he blew up the old one. Panhard bar also appears to have been cut and re-welded. Only thing I can figure is the panhard bracket that is welded to the third member is some sort of rigged up thing and the stock panhard was too long for the funky bracket. If a photo is need let me know and I'll post one. Too dark to get a pic tonite. Thanks Guys!

Re: What rear end do I have

Probably an Eaton H052. Comparable to a 14 bolt in strength.

Re: What rear end do I have

Thanks 71K20. The pan hard bar is mounted to the frame (passenger side) and the funky bracket is welded on the left(drivers side) on the third member right next to the cover. It just looks wrong.

Re: What rear end do I have

Pic would definitely be helpful.... based on your description I'd agree with the above, probably Eaton HO52.
