Re: 1969 C10 SWB - Big Block project

A little more progress today... we got the Ididit tilt steering column installed. The quality is excellent on this column and the fit is really nice using the factory mounts. We'll be making a trip tomorrow morning to Chevy World Parts in Bryant Alabama to pick up most of the parts we will need to finish the truck.

Stay tuned.

Re: 1969 C10 SWB - Big Block project

We got the Ididit Tilt Floor Shift Universal Column 1120350010 from Summit Racing. It measures 35" long and has a 2" tube diameter. It comes unpainted steel with billet tilt knob, turn signal knob and flasher knob.

The only down side is that Summit didn't mention that you would need a wiring adapter (for $19.95) to mate with our C10 half circle wiring plug. Also, we ended up having to order a steering coupler to mate it to the original steering shaft. Fun stuff like that.

Re: 1969 C10 SWB - Big Block project

We were able to get the dash pad, door weather stripping, outside door handles and glove box on today. The Vintage Air SureFit Kit is expected to arrive early next week, so we are waiting to install the AC vents until we get the kit.

Chevy World Parts has a new back glass on it way as well as some saddle door panels.

Re: 1969 C10 SWB - Big Block project

What door seals did you use and how do you like them? Oh, and is that a sticker or painted logo on the glove box door?

Looking great btw!

Chris, the door seals are from SofSeal. They are really soft and the fit is perfect. The logo is a sticker that was applied to the glove box after base coat, then clear coated to blend into the face. Chad also had an extra glove box painted without the logo.

Re: 1969 C10 SWB - Big Block project

We made a little more progress on the truck this week. The carpet is in and really looks nice. The tan comfort grip steering wheel is a reproduction of the ones used on '69 Corvettes and Camaros.

The Lokar billet gas pedal looks right at home next to the Lokar floor shifter. The Vintage Air Gen IV Surefit kit is nice quality and comes with good instructions. It is designed to fit the '67-'72 C10's. We like the idea of having A/C and heat built into one compact unit.

We appreciate that Chris. We wanted a Golden Anniversary truck but with just a little more flash.

Robbie, the interior is really turning out great. We have had most of the interior parts for awhile. The saddle carpet and bucket seats are perfect with the BMW Gold.

Thanks Larry. We are almost neighbors!

We got the Holley 3310 back from the Carb Doc today and mounted on the engine. It was built specifically for this engine and should be a nice all around carb.

We plan on starting the installation of the Vintage Air SureFit kit tomorrow.

Thanks Justin.

We made good progress today. With the help of some good friends, we were able to install the bed on the truck and start getting the wood finished up. It actually works to have 4 buddies lift at the four corners and walk it onto the frame. Now we are getting excited!

I'm glad you didn't go with black interior parts. Looks so much cleaner the route your going. Keep it up.

The back bumper is now installed and fit really well. Auto Metal Direct (AMD) makes a premium quality product.

The Vintage Air Kit install is coming along too.

The side marker lights are different in the pictures because we are trying to decide between side deluxe marker lights or van marker lights. Leaning toward the van markers.

I think the deluxe lights fit your truck better. What species of wood are you using in the bed floor ? This is one beautiful truck to.

Marker lights from firebird/Trans Am's fit the hole perfect, and are flush. I've been collecting them since finding this out.
