Its a 78 and it looks rough, but there is no rust on the tub and the frame is not bent. I think this one is a builder. It needs tires, right fender, front bumper, grille, a non taco hood, carb, HEI, radiator, and power steering pump. Probably a few other things as well. I have all of the parts in stock. I will need to come up with more than a thimble of ambition!

It's in good hands! I know they made a million of them but I cringe when I see doors cut for speakers, personal pet peeve. Glad to hear you're bringing it back to life.

Yeah. The doors have no value with the speaker holes, but since they are rust free and match the tub, I will run them and enjoy the music.

That ones a builder for sure. Holes for speakers in the door don't bother me a bit. I just put speakers in them since that's the best place. I cut many a door for speakers. You have to put yourself in the perspective of back then when it was considered a huge improvement. It's where the factory ended up putting speakers once stereos went in about everything.

The holes don't bother me, but nobody wants to buy cut up doors around here.

I know,that's all I hear. That's fine,leave 'em all for me. I wouldn't cut doors that survived this long,just as I wouldn't do a lot of things I'd not think twice doing back in the day. I have some beautiful '67 GMC w/trim and no extra mirror hole doors (exactly what I needed) from California that I only paid $75 a piece for. After Greyhound I have $300 into the pair. I already had random rust-free doors that I sold for $300@. The '67s had all the important things I look for,that far out weight some silly holes that can be patched up (if I want) far easier than fixing dents,mirror holes,or rust. I'd hang onto all clean doors w/speaker holes for the day the world comes around to realizing their value.
Here's what GM did in '78. It looks like an afterthought:

I've been looking for those elusive factory speakers and even brought home a couple of highly optioned '78 trucks with no luck. One had the spare tire glide out!

That's rare. I found these on the parts board last week. They ain't cheap and as you see them...no speakers. I have those already,and better than factory

Dale, You are correct! And I have a nice maroon dash pad. I just picked up a parts Blazer from a great member (Ol Blue K20 THANKS!) that I can combine the 2 to make one nice one. I will probably start with the front bumper.
