Help! Diffrence between Chassis

Any one tell me what the difference between 1/2 and 1 ton chassis 55-59. any help would be much appreciated............

One ton is thicker steel. I believe that 1 tons are long bed only, Some of the spring hanger locations may be different.

Difference between 55-7 and 58-59 on 1/2 tons is the frame horns past the front axle are 2.5 inches longer. So you could use a 58 on a 55 and trim down the rail ends, but would have to extend the rails to go from 55 to 58 or 59.
This may also apply to 1 tons of the same years.
