72 big block swap pulleys

i'm having trouble finding pulleys to work with my short water pump big block i order a three piece set and the power steering looks like it needs a three groove pulley to work and it came with two i've got reproduction power steering pump mount from ccp if i use a set from a two wheel drive big block are they double groove crank pulley or triple i'd prefer double so their would be no clearance issues if two wheel drive pulleys would work where would i find them

Re: 72 big block swap pulleys

I put together my pulley set using 1967 375hp 396 pulleys from a Chevelle. The Chevelle uses the same power steering setup as the truck and the high perf 375hp pulleys are deep groove.

You can also use the 325hp 396 pulleys that have the same ratio as the truck pulleys.

Brace yourself though, they are expensive. Most cost effective may be to find a used set of pulleys here on the board.

Re: 72 big block swap pulleys

Two groove crank pulley is $120. Add on pulley to make 3 groove is $50. $110 for water pump pulley. $50 for the single groove power steering pulley. $50 for the oversize alternator pulley.

If you want the original style two groove cast iron crank pulley it's a $200 part. The cast iron hi-po steering pulley, another $50.

But you can piece together a low perf pulley set for a couple of hundred bucks.

Edit: shopping around finds a big disparity in prices. Here is a two groove waterpump pulley for just $85
