Custom center console with iPad mount!

Guys, I need some advice. I got new buckets from an 88 sunbird this weekend and bolted them right up to stock risers. Bolted right to the floor and done! I am wanting to build a center console to house an I pad, cup holders, and storage area.

Problem is the trans hump is offset side to side on the cab. The passenger seat is right next to the hump and the driver has about 4-5 inches to the hump. I did notice that the new driver seat is to the right of the steering wheel a little... Would it be best to slide the driver seat towards the passenger side so the gap in between the seat and hump are the same? That would make the console "look" centered but then there will now be a gap between driver door and the driver seat BUT that will correct the driver seat being off centered to the left. Any thoughts? Or am I just overthinking this... ALL input is appreciated!!!

My preference is to center the seat with the steering wheel. I would center the console between the seats.

I just went out and looked at a suburban in the parking lot. The factory center console is centered between the seats, not the trans hump.

Re: Custom center console with iPad mount!

Wow, thanks for all that! But my console will be 12" wide. If I centered the console on the trans hump that would put the driver side of the console too far to the left causing it to mount on the floor pan and not the jump. Still really undecided. Will sit in the truck and play with the tape measure. Leaning towards losing the seat over then centering the console on the hump.

Anyone have a long console in their truck? From the storage tray to the dash!

not all the way and not what some consider a "center console" but its 17 inches wide and should give you some idea what can fit. i have 93 blazer buckets on stock risers.
