For those wanting 10-bolt brackets, what year are they, and is the bolt pattern 5 on 5"?

Re: Impala SS/Caprice rear disc brake BRACKETS

ocbaud, and Col Clank - I beleive the 10 bolt uses the same axle flange bolt pattern as the 12 bolt. I need to double check this on Monday as I have the info in my desk at work. If so, then you guys are in luck!!

mikeoj - I sent you a PM.

Re: Impala SS/Caprice rear disc brake BRACKETS

How the heck did I miss this thread??? Bob, forgive me for being ignorant,,,Do the Camaro brackets allow the use of the E brake? Is that why some guys want the Camaro ones...Or is it that the Camaro caliper is easier to come by? I want to put disc brakes on my Lil' Red truck, but want the E brake to work.

Alex

Re: Impala SS/Caprice rear disc brake BRACKETS

Hi Alex,

The Camaro calipers have an integral e-brake as part of the caliper, the Impala/Caprice do not. I am waiting on a set of Camaro calipers to arrive from another board member, them I can get them done up in CAD and start making them.

Re: Impala SS/Caprice rear disc brake BRACKETS

I would like a set of the 12 bolt Camaro brakets too, please.
Is this the Camaro bracket? I believe it was said to be 93-97 Camaro bracket for rear disc brakes? Do you use the 11" Impala rotor with it, nah...you wouldn't use an Impala rotor on a Camaro Caliper,,,that doesn't make sense?

Thanks, I'm kinda lost on all the particulars.

You would use the Impala rotors if you want to keep the 5 on 5 bolt pattern.

Re: Impala SS/Caprice rear disc brake BRACKETS

The Impala SS/Caprice rotors are 11 39/64" x .785". Those look like the right ones. The ones I will be making will be a little different so they can bolt onto our rearends .

BTW Alex, I am getting close to having my CNC plasma cutting table done. Custom headache racks, hitch covers, shop signs, etc, etc, etc..... Any ideas??

11 36/64" X .785", not sure about those brackets though. I'm going with the impala setup.

Re: Impala SS/Caprice rear disc brake BRACKETS

I want to be able to hook up the E brake...that's why I think the Camaro set up is better for what I want.

So, in shopping for this upgrade....We buy the bracket from Bob....we buy 93-97 Camaro rear disc brake calipers, and buy Impala 5x5 rotors. What year Impala rotor is it that is needed?

Ideas..Bob??? You want something sprayed???

Re: Impala SS/Caprice rear disc brake BRACKETS

Sorry to hijack, but I need some help. I have a friend going to California in march and I need to find some Impala rotors can anyone give me some names of places to go? - exchange rate makes it quite expensive in NZ $$ as well, so ballpark figures would really help as well. To buy them here it would cost me $440. I would really appreciate any ideas.

Lowride,

Just go to any parts chain store. I'm from New York, so I don't know exactly whats in CA, but some of the major auto stores in the US are Autzone, Advance Auto Parts, Oriely's, and NAPA. Maybe some of the CA guys will chime in here. The cost from Advance is $51.48 for each rotor.

Re: Impala SS/Caprice rear disc brake BRACKETS

www.rockauto.com has them for under $17.00 US, but unfortunatley I think they are mail order only. Best bet is Autozone or Advance Auto like stated above.
