Rocker to door alignment
I’m just finishing up one side of the wife’s 61 did some floor patches , A pillar, inner outer rocker and front cab support . The rocker panel to door is tight at the front end of rocker . The rear is aligned perfect with the cab corner and the door gap is good . I had this same issue when I repaired all the rust on my 65 cab both rockers were hitting or tight at the first foot or so from the front . I used a 2x4 and hammered it down to gain some clearance on my 65 and left it . On this 61 I lowered the front of rocker so it matches a gauge I made before tear down and the underside where it meets the inner floor is hanging down a 1/2” pretty much where it should be close to being flush with the edge of the inner floor . I did brace cab before I started and took measurement etc . Wandering if I’m missing something or any tricks besides beating on the rocker to get it too move down ? On my 65 I even rewelded and lowered one of the A pillar patches thinking it was too high and causing the rocker too sit higher but that didnt help with the clearance issue . I took a couple pics you can see how I have to drop the front of rocker and how it’s way down compared to the inside edge of floor

Re: Rocker to door alignment
When I did my blazer I tacked the rocker in place in a few spots and then hung the door to check fit before I welded it all up
I had to test fit the driver side a couple times before I got it |

Re: Rocker to door alignment
Position the front fender to insure door alignment up and down (panel crease alignment) and to see where bottom of fender aligns with same on rocker.

Re: Rocker to door alignment
I'll hang the fender and check that. I made a gauge out of a 2x4 and marked where the original rocker was positioned before i tore this side down and when I position this new rocker to my gauge the clearance is good but so low at the front maybe it is these repop rockers

Re: Rocker to door alignment
I had the same problem on my 61.I ended up extending the inner rocker down and then trimming it to fit the bottom of the rocker.

Re: Rocker to door alignment
Ya thanks Nick ! I actually seen one of your old posts today and seen you just add alittle material to the inner . I didn’t keep the old rocker to compare to the repop but I compared the gauge I made up before tear down and the repop shape is a lot taller on that end. So the stamping is way off , I hung my fender and it lines up fine . Wish I woulda noticed or found out this when I did my 65 this last summer I spent so much time trying to raise the door more and beat the rocker down etc both sides were same issue tight gap at the front
