OE dash pad

Like a lot of squarebody owners my dash pad is trashed. I have a chance to buy an OE pad that's in pretty good shape (only a couple of tiny cracks in the speaker holes.) Bonus is that it's the right color. I like to buy original parts when I can, but is it a smart move to buy a new one instead (Cheyenne?) I appreciate any input on this. I'm slowly learning what I can about these trucks! Here's the pad:

Re: OE dash pad

For the older ones, 70's, I would definitely buy a good used one. That one looks nice too. I'd say jump on it.

Re: OE dash pad

I have mixed emotions on this stuff too. Too me a dash pad, OE like yours is still30+ years old and probably been sun baked most of the time, so how long till the little cracks and all get worse and it starts crumbling. I have done a couple of aftermarket ones and had no issues, although colors are limited normally. I have the original in mine and it should last a while since it is in a building when it hasn'e been used.

USA1 Industries has every one of out trucks interior colors. They are built over a metal frame also, just like the OEM dashes.

Forgot to include that it's for my '76. I can get it for about half the cost of a new one. Decisions, decisions
