Homemade Bed Wood

Finally completed cutting ,sanding & finishing wood for the bed. Old Chevy Manuals Online & MAR-K both have all the information needed to make your own.

Very nice work. Not for sure on what kind of wood, cherry? What kind of finish did you use.? I used automotive clear coat on mine.

I was told it's Mahoghany wood ,I used spar urethane for the finish. I happy with the way it all turned out , especially with what I got invested

I would say that mahoghany is right. Did you finish all the way around the boards?

did you stain it first? just curious clear would react to the oil based stain.
