C20 ?

I'm going to be installing 8 lug disc from a 71 72 c20 and they are going on a 69 c20 are the upper and lower ball joints the same.

Typically, when changing from drums to discs, the spindles are different & require different BJ's (more often w/just the lower).

A good way to check is search your local auto parts stores website. Look-up your truck & the truck your parts are coming from. See if the p/n's are different.
