Thanks lower50's,,, it's definitely been tough at times,,, but that's what's so great about this site,, all the positive feedback and support!! I think there is over 400 comments on this build,, and not a single one of them is negative!!
So thank you and everybody on here who's helped keep me up and keep me moving forward!!
.
P.S. Sorry about the size of some of the pictures,,, I don't know what's going on with imageshack,, but I'm starting to regret using them.

I'm not knocking you on the seats. I was just curious. I'm going to try to use my Tahoe seats but we will see.

Those seats look nice. Great work on the frame work. Are you planning on keeping the head rests on there? Lots of people don't like the head rests on my seats. But, they've saved my head from hitting the back window a couple of times, and they are comfy on a longer trip.

I spent some time last summer putting new head gaskets in my friends 71 GMC,,, he has the Tahoe seats mounted in his truck. The thing I do like about them is the built in seat belts.

You make a good point,, I'll have to put them in and see if I like them or not. I'm not sure I'll be pulling any stumps with Tangerine ,,, I wish you lived closer,, if I need a stump pulled we could use your diesel K30!! (feel the TORQUE!!)

Here is just a little reminder of what I kinda want my interior to look like. Maybe not so "show Quality" but the general shape of the dash and center console. Plus I'll be using the Yukon instrument cluster.

If you want to build a dash like that, I have some mid year corvette dash pads I will send you so you can make some fiberglass ones, or use them as templates. I used them as molds when I built one for my 68 Vette.

Wow Ryan,, Thanks for offering that! I might just take you up on that. It will be a couple more weeks before the weather here is warm enough to start to do fiberglass. I will definitely keep that in mind.

Ok,, no super cool progress last week,,, spent most of the time getting rid of a bunch of wiring that I won't need (I hope!!). I'm pretty sure I won't need rear a/c, or On Star, or air bags, or power sunroof, ect. ect ect! Probably should have done this a long time ago!

Think of the performance gains from the weight of the wire you chopped out

Nice progress on the wiring. I know how time consuming that can be.

Yeah,, The wiring makes my head hurt a little. I'm pretty excited though,, I just watched that 71 Blazer sell on Barret Jackson,, for $200,000!!! So I'm busy building my dash and center console now. My upholstery guy said he'd be ready to start on my stuff in about 3 weeks.

Re: "TANGERINE" (C20 to K10) (LWB to SWB) (CST/MOD) (5.3)

So I've been a little under the weather the last few weeks,, stupid cold,, turned in to stupid bronchitis,, made working on the truck kind of tough. I managed to get a little work done.
.
I've been hauling the original carpet from the yukon around for the last six years hoping I could use it. So I did a trial fit and found that there were some pretty large humps that are molded in to the carpet. They are there for the heat tubes to travel under the carpet and front seats and blow on the people in the back seat. Since I don't need those tubes and I don't want soft humps in my carpet,, I decided to buy carpet for a 2001 pick up.
.

.
The 2001 pick up carpet
.

.
Bought it from Rock Auto,, I heard this brand is supposed to be pretty good.
.

I started working on the dash too. Got a little discouraged with all the metal cutting I have to do,, so I bought a new throatless metal sheer. Hopefully that will speed things up!

Nice new carpet. Maybe someone on CL will want your old stuff. The new metal shear sounds like a good investment.

Used the shears today,,, worked great!!! (thanks eastwood!!) I'll post a pic later. The old carpet is serving me well as a semi-comforatable way of getting under the truck and cleaning up the frame. I do have a lot of stuff to do the CL thing with,, including the stock Yukon fuel tank. I finally made a decision ( after 6 years) The stock tank has got to go,, and the spare tire and the single exhaust!! The new custom built tank will go where the spare tire was and that will lend room for the new DUAL exhaust (what's a cool truck without dual exhaust??) .

Wow. This is an insane swap. Way more than I could pull off. I'm going to have to check on wheel base lengths. Maybe a suburban would work for mine.

True that! I guess I could bring it more in to the cab,,, but I like the roominess of keeping it close to to the windshield.

Hey Trixxterr,, thanks for joining the fun!! My original idea was to build a Suburban on a newer chassis,, but when I seen how closely the wheelbase of a Yukon/Tahoe matched up with the wheelbase of a shortbox,, plans changed!! .
