It's the right air cleaner for an L6, but for a 292 you will need to find a ''collar'' or carb riser to compenste for the nearly 2 added inches in height of the 292 block deck.

Re: 6cyl offset air filter

What carburetor is on it? Rochester Monojet?
I bought an offset for a 292 and there were virtually no difference as long as they are both from a Monojet carb. IIRC, 2-5/8" opening.

If I can, I will post pictures of all three offset's I bought. One was refinished and is on the truck. The other two are sitting in the garage doing nothing at all.

The riser is used on a 250 also. I will be making some out of aluminum when I get access to a lathe. I bought the material and have detailed dimensions.

Re: 6cyl offset air filter

Good to know. Happy to help a fellow 292 operator out anytime, but really I don't have a dog in this fight, anymore. I retired my Monojet in 1978, when I got an Offy intake and a 4 Bbl Holley 390 CFM. After running the 390 for 25 years, it wouldn't set up at idle, so I replaced it with a 500 CFM Edelbrock 1404, after rebuilding a 292 the second time.
