GM Pass Lock Anti-theft System
Hello to all. I have a 1998, Chevy, 2-Door Tahoe, with the dreaded, Pass Lock, cranking but not running problem. I have read at least 10 threads, watched 10 or so videos, some what explaining, what to do. I have been to the dealer at 10 times in the last two weeks, trying to resolve this issue. I have bought new keys, new lock cylinder, but I cant find a anti-theft module so they say will fix my problem. I have also tried the 10-10-10-10-10-10 relearn/crank procedure and I am about to junk a good running Tahoe, because I can't get pass this issue. Please help a brother out. I am desperate. I don't want to throw money in the air without results. Thanks in advance. your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Re: GM Pass Lock Anti-theft System
I had to replace the housing on my k2500. It was 320 for the part. That was wholesale pricing and I installed it. That was 4 years ago.
Later on I got a mail order tune, and one of the questions they asked is if I wanted to keep the passlock/vats. They can tune it out. |

Re: GM Pass Lock Anti-theft System
I'm not a tuner. I had blackbear do mine. I would assume you could do it with hp tuners.

Re: GM Pass Lock Anti-theft System
Hello to all. I had the common, GM pass lock anti Theft problem, the kept my 1998 2 door Tahoe from running. It would crank but would not run. Well just to report, HPTuners can disable the factory anti-theft system and allow your vehicle to star and run. So to test it out, I went to the gas station, the atm for cash to pay the tuner, and to pollo tropical, to get something to eat. I hope this helps answer someone with the same propblem, question.
