Hey from AZ

Completely new to this series of trucks...always wanted one. Searched locally (hey...it’s AZ) for a rust free shortbed and couldn’t find anything decent at a decent price. But I did find this! 1968 LWB CST with 81k actual documented miles. Bought of from the grandson of the original owner. Although it spent its early years in Montana it has spent almost all its time in Phoenix. Completely free of rust. I bought it as a non-runner...has been sitting for 10+years. It’s running and driving now. Kid thought it was a 307 but it is a 327 (3914678). It has a 2 barrel and a turbo 400. The paint and body is original as is the interior. (Some dumb ass cut the dash tho for a newer radio). I’m certain the glass including the windshield is original too. Can’t wait to get started (keeping it original except for 6 lug rallies). What is this color called other than light green?

Being a 2b, I wonder if it's 307. A 327 would probably have a 4b but I'm not 100% sure. Is the 327 listed on your glovebox?

-P.S. Just saw your other post about the 2-4 b upgrade. I will let the experts chime in.

Iim beginning to think somewhere along the line the 4bbl was removed. The casting #s on the heads point to a 70-71 350, and they take the smaller spark plugs. Perhaps someone swapped heads and the intake(?). BTW the intake and block casting numbers are correct for the year, block is. 3914678 (1968 327)

All the normal spots are rust free. Even the floor of the bed (steel, not wood) looks better than most 10 year old trucks. Inner fender panel on the pass side is rusted from a battery spill. That’s all I can find.

Similar story to mine, except mine is 505 dark green.
Seems the LWB's are gaining in popularity as each day passes.

Got to love vehicles from AZ most of the time no rust. Interiors are usually shot though. Nice longbed btw just that tint though.

Ya...that tint has got to go. Everyrhing inside is good except seat. Know any decent upholstery shops for a stock seat? (I’m in NW Phx)
