71 GMC burb...lowered a lot...rear end has cut coils and relocated shocks...rides like a trampoline. up and down...side to side. What options do I have that will not break the bank? I have never done much of anything rear suspension wise...

Swapping out those coils would prob make the biggest difference. Prob cut too many coils. And new shocks

Drop springs typically run around $100-$125 for a pair.

For the height of my burb now any recommendations for what size drop spring in the back? Also anyone have a shock they really like?

I was thinking about the whole panhard bar?? would that help?

I was always under the impression rear coils shouldn't be cut because their shape and how they mount. I know you can get four inch drop rear coils especially for burbs and panels. I have four inch drop coils and two inch blocks for my panel. I also have shock relocaters. I'm going to have to come up with something different for the shocks though because the shock relocater kit hangs a little below the scrub line ... cant have that.

Now does this side to side explaination, does that infer that the truck shifts side to side horizontally or just rocks (yaws) about a centerline movement.

If it;s the first it sounds like your pannard bar is worn out or missing.

If it rocks (yaws) then you need better springs and of course better shocks, I'll suggest KYB's a little more expensive but worth it. I'm running them on mine and three of the four are the ones I put on it in '88-'89 (150,000 plus miles) The one that went bad was warranted under their lifetime warrantee.

Again worth it.

Ya more of a rocking from than actual side to side. I will look into lowering coils...I just don't want to go to all the work and have them make me ride higher than I am right now...up is never a good direction for me. And Im running kyb shocks but I think they are the cheaper ones

Aaron, is your burb C-notched? If so then get a 6 inch spring. If not then you're going to have to get a 4, you "might" be able to get away with a 5.

Mine is notched. The only problem with 6 inch springs is as far as I know they only make them for trucks. They are not nearly as stout. I don't have a picture anymore on this computer but I'm sure Ive posted them before ... a shot of a burb drop spring next to a truck drop spring. There is really a big difference.

Yes its notched. Are the truck springs and burb springs springs seated the same?
