? about 2wd conversion

I have an 81 chevy 4wd lwb. the body is in very rough shape. I also have an 81 chevy 2wd lwb that is in great shape. Was wanting some opinions about which you would do. Put another body on the 4wd frame, or put the 4wd drivetrain under my 2wd? Thanks for all the help and input. Darrell

Put the body on the 4WD frame. You are looking for a 4x4, right?

Less work to swap the body. Though you may have to run a small body lift or swap the transmission/tcase "hump" from the 4wd cab to the 2wd cab.

Re: ? about 2wd conversion

You can do either one but swapping the body is easier. I put an 87 2wd on a 76 4wd. The only problem I ran into was that the wiring was a little different but you wont have that problem since they are the same year.
