1987 Silverado: Stock Lift with 33x12.50's...

Hey guys and gals, I'm Matt...new here on the forums with my 1987 Silverado V10 with only 75,000 orignal miles and everything orignal minus the camper which is coming off. This was my grandpa's truck and only has one repaint. Redoing exterior moldings right now.

I am test fitting 33x12.50's on 15x10 wheels....got good clearance except almost at full lock the thread will rub the inner fender lip...thought about trimming it down for clearance but wanted to see if anyone has run into this issue before...or thought about lifting it 2 inches with block, new shocks, u-bolts..etc to gain clearance.. let me know your thoughts..

Thank you,

Matt

I've run them that way for years, some I trimmed, some I didn't. Nice truck, Welcome to the forum.

Depends on the use. If you plan on actually wheeling it, I'd lift it. If you don't plan on hitting anything more than a dirt road I wouldn't worry about it.

If you do decide to lift, springs up front NO blocks. They do make 2" springs for these. Blocks out back are fine.

Do a 2" lift. It will look better. That truck is too nice to cut.

If you do a 2" do 2" replacement front springs. You can buy new 2.5" Superlift front springs from summit racing for about $180.00 for the pair with bushings.

DO NOT put blocks in the front.
