Need some advice on which parts I'll need 49 chevy

I'm at the point where I'm ready to test for my motor and trans set up, I used a front clip from a 85 s-10 and built a 3/4 frame from there back, it is bagged and will be putting my 49 Chevrolet 3100 on it. The motor and transmission is a 5.3 / 4l60e combination, what I'd like to know is what oil pan and what motor mounts have you guys used, being as this is bagged and laying frame, I obviously don't want the oil pan hanging below the frame. Any insight as to what parts to acquire would be greatly appreciated!!! Here's a pic of it.

I'd think you are going to end up fabbing your own or modifying some factory units.

I'd shoot for having the pan (s) above the bottom line of the crossmember if I could. V engines be they six or eight look lost down in the well if you set them low in the engine compartment anyhow. I'd be at least as high in the stock frame area with the tail shaft of the trans as the centerline of the original trans and crank was.

I always use 91 Camaro motor mount and make my own pedestals. This is detailed in my S-10 swap how to sticky.

I have an ls motor in my truck.. Mine is clipped with a camaro front clip. Pick up the Holley 302-1. The sump on the 302-2 did not look like it would clear. Fits my 49 perfectly. I also used Camaro manifolds.

I think the GTO oil pan is the most shallow.
Hummer H3 pan is not bad either, and it's a lot cheaper.
I have a great link somewhere (that I can't find) where someone compared all the Vortec/LS pans. It was on the LSx forum if I remember right.

There you go.. This may not be the one b-mac is talking about but is one you can go by. Just so you know I had the wrong pan on mine and this was the result. So I went with the most clearance I could get.

This is the one I saw, I think.

Be mindful of where your cross-member will land in relation to the oil pan.

Re: Need some advice on which parts I'll need 49 chevy

I have a 5.3 sitting in my 57 truck with a camaro pan, oil pick up tube, oil pan baffle and dipstick tube. also a set of manifolds from the same generation because they are narrower than the truck manifolds that came with the engine. 2000ish camaro.
