I love the basic straight six, bone stock sleeper look. Are you going to lower it at all or keep the stock height?

Same color as my 1971 Cheyenne 402bb--nice

Sorry guys for the lack in posts. Been busy away sandblating, painting, repairing.. you know how it goes. The cab is now at the body shop. Should be back in my possesion in a week or two. Meantime, I have been restoring each piece on at a time, and aquiring all the odds and ends I need to make it look like a truck again. Heres a few pics...

NOS. I have my original, But After stripping the anodize and wetsanding out I noticed the aluminum had many small pits it it. Made wall art from it instead

Did my seat today. Geeez! 5 hours and two bloody fingers. Took the bottom off twice before I got it right. Put it in the dryer for 10 minutes stretched it on as fast as I could and hog ringed all around No Winkles!!! Top I couldnt do as fast cause I had to reuse the metal insert rods. The worst part was the flaps to cover the hinge area. Man I had to heat and stretch and I still pulled somestitches. (Luckily they are all in the back) Looks great. I can see why everyone says the covers have to be 3" too short. They certainly feel that way going on. I belive I have a different seat setup too, possibly because its a base model? The foam was thinner than what I remember the 69 seat foam looking like and flat (Not T shaped.)

Alls well tho and saved a boat load of money. Got the PUI Cover on sale for $180 shipped and the upolstry shop down the road was giving me crazy numbers like $600 just for labor.

nice. This is my favorite steper on the forum, keep pics coming with those nice parts(new and NOS).

Im working on a secreat audio system that allows me to keep the functioning AM in place if I ever want to use that... As soon as I get the cab back on Ill post up some info on it. But really simple concept and so far less than $50 (Assuming you have a good speaker in the dash already)

Okat so I went another direction on my audio system after doing some research on the web today. I created a turorial on this after I finished in case someone would like to do it themselves. Cost $20 and so far works great!

Looking good, I really like an original restoration! Seats are fun aren't they? I laid mine out in front of the gas fireplace on a really cold night, the house got heated, seat stretched and I got to work inside!

Fuuny I did almost the same. Got my wood burning f.p. roaring for a while and worked in the den!

That is a great idea! Thank you for sharing. I may just do that modification too. I guess it still sounds like a mono am system?

Yes. By using the resistors you effectivly are tying the channels together and it still performs as a mono radio. (Without tha AM static tho!)

Ohhhh Man! I was at the body shop today just to see the progress, which is a little slower than expected. But WOW! I was very impressed with the detail they have taken with respect to prepping the cab. Under the dash, They even smoothed the inner cab corner welds and removed and re-did all of the original seem sealer. It looks sick! And with the inside welds smoothed and my new floor pans, you cant even tell this thing had body work. I am impressed! I cant wait to see it in paint. Hopefully by next week!
