Re: Two tone unveiled!!!!

I kinda feel bad. I booted the 69 from the carport to make room for the 72.

I snapped this pic of the 69 while I was getting pics of the 72.

That looks sweet Sam! How about a rear view? Have you figured out any more about the trim?

Re: Two tone unveiled!!!!

The rear view is the least flattering, sorta like it's owner!!!!!!! I want to get pics of both subs together, so I'll get a rear pic then.

And no more on the trim, between the hoildays, then my daughter's accident, then trading for the 72 (and subsequent engine rebuild), and we had our 6th child on Feb. 13, it's been kinda busy!!!!!

I'm hoping it might settle down here soon ...

Re: Two tone unveiled!!!!

Truck looks sweet man!! Just curious as to what brand of paint you used and how much it took. Its been 10 years since I painted anything and auto paint much like everything else has gone up in price. Previously I used strictly PPG products but some of this off brand urethane paint looks tempting.

Re: Two tone unveiled!!!!

GM absolutely should have done 'Burbs (and Blazers/Jimmys) this way from the factory. Two tones like that totally changes the look of them! I love it!!!

Re: Two tone unveiled!!!!

Longhorn, I'll put the request in for the pics! I just hope we get some better weather soon.

67_C30, I agree.

AvgJoe, I used urethane enamel from NAPA. I should have stuck with the acrylic enamel. It was roughly the same price.

From the top of my head:

Etching primer: 125
High build primer w/thinner: 75 (might have been less)
1 gal White w/reducer and hardner: 200
1 gal Black w/reducer and hardner: 180 (may have been more, I just remember it was cheaper than white)
1 gal cleaner degreaser: 50 (this might have been more)

plus tax .. call it 700 just for paint (you still have sand paper, scotchbrite pads, and other stuff you will need). Way more than I intended to spend. I started off just wanting to paint the roof with tractor supply paint!

I just tell myself it was at least a 700 or 800 dollar improvement.
