Got the cab mounted on and i put down fat mat for some sound deadening. I also started wiring... I have no idea what i thought when i got myself into this.

Update: Wiring is going good. The cab is mostly wired. Got the steering column in and got one of my welding buddys to take the flatbed and work on it. Got the brake lines redone and put the fenders and radiator back in. Next step is put carpet down and get the seats in, put the doors on and wire up the engine. I also have to figure out how to wire up the dash bezel. The way that the kit from american autowire has it doesnt seem like it is going to work. The ends are all wrong. Here is what it looks like now!

After my dad and i got the fenders on we realized that it looks impossible to put the door hinges on without removing the fenders... Live and learn. lol

Sorry for such a long time between updates. But it is almost there! I still have to rewire the headlights and i also have to mount the flatbed on.

The Flatbed was painted black and it will still have a wood floor. I also welded together a little headache rack so that i wouldn't hurt the rear of the cab if i used the truck to haul wood.

Today I also installed the seat out of a 1994 F150 we had sitting around. The seat is actually really comfortable and it fits nice. You dont realize how big of a truck this is until you actually sit in it. And it doesnt help that i have been driving my little car around lately.

I am also in process of wiring in the dual battery system. And i am also wiring in the instrument cluster.

I have the hardest time finding new wire clips for the instrument cluster. Does anyone know where i can get some?

I can barely squeeze myself into the seat with the original steering wheel in place because it is so large. Does anyone know of any smaller aftermarket steering wheels i could use that fit and look nice?

So finally here are a couple pictures of the progress. It is raining at the moment so i dont have a picture of the flatbed i will get one soon. In one of the pictures is my grandpa and he bought a brand new 72 C20 of the lot. He has a very interesting storry about how the transmission went out in that truck after he only drove it less than 100 miles. Anyways on to the pictures...

I actually drove the truck )into my buddys shop today. It was more than a little bit scary because the steering is not very good and i was just generally concerned about how the truck would hold up. He is going to give the truck a once over for me and fix steering issues and issues that i cant figure out for myself. It is very good to know a mechanic

Cool! How about some pictures of how it looks now? Did you ever find a smaller steering wheel? I was going to post a pic of the Grant wheel my brother put on Mustard back in the late 80s or early 90s, but I can't find a pic of the interior with the wheel installed at the moment. It's smaller in diameter. Plus, if your original wheel is in good shape, you should be able to sell it and cover part of the cost of a new wheel. There's a bit of a demand for original wheels that don't have cracks in them.

Sadly i dont have any recent pictures of the truck but i will definitely have to get some when i get it back from my buddy. I was getting some pretty odd looks driving it in because i drove it in without a hood, grille, or front or rear bumpers. I stole a steering wheel from a 90's truck for about $10. Its not much smaller and its still a squeeze fitting into the truck but once your in its not too bad. I plan on getting a tilt column and then possibly putting the original steering wheel back on. There has been a lot of stuff going on as my family is also moving soon and im going to be off to college in the fall. I am also working a full time job this summer. So it might not be 100% on the road this summer. I guess ill just wait and see

Nice looking project you got there, with that flatbed for hauling your other toys you should consider using composite decking for the floor of that bad boy, saw another member use it for a floor in his fleetside wood bed turned out pretty nice, and being your in a state with different seasons you wont really have to worry about it rotting out. Keep up the nice work

I actually have the flatbed mounted on already with the wood in. I never thought about using the composite decking... Ill definitely have to keep that in mind when it comes time to replace the wood!

So I am thinking that i may revive this thread from the dead. The last progress that was made on the truck was piling every part that i own for it onto the flatbed so that it could be taken out to the shed on our property for storage. Then commenced the enormous project of moving out of our house that we were living in for 18 years. It is entirely amazing to me how much stuff you have that you dont even use or know that it existed... Then I went back to college for my second year of school but my first year away from home. I came back home this spring and got a job through school doing an engineering co-op until January and then it will be back to school once again. While I have been working i have not had the excess time to start working on the truck but i have been getting more and more anxious to once again start on it. I have also been trying to save up money for it so i can buy all the shiny new parts that i think it deserves
