Hi was wondering where can I buy the metal tubing, I need to pass smog and don't have this anymore. I think it just fell off. Also if anyone knows the dimensions that would be great thanks.

Re: Breather/Air Cleaner Question

Back in the 70's when smog controls were first installed in Calif. vehicles I thought I'd pull the choke stove (pipe from exhaust manifold to air cleaner) off my '73 Chev pickup. What resulted was a serious stumble off-idle when it was cold. It doesn't seem to affect FI vehicles but it sure does affect carbed vehicles; at least it did with mine. Once the vehicle warms up the flapper in the air cleaner opens and the stumble is not a problem.

That's because FI will detect the air temp and adjust the air/fuel ratio to compensate. Carb's don't do that, hence chokes for the carbs and exhaust manifold heat sources for the intake.
