1957 cab rust repair
Just bought 2 more trucks 1955 1957 one has severe rust at the roof where it comes down to form the pinch weld for the windshield. The lower part of the roof in this area is 80% gone and some of the top part.Does anyone make rust repair panels for this area? I can -----but a true formed piece would be SO much easier ty

Going to answer my own question here and Im passing this on as a favor to all those in similiar need of this part Dynacorn ind. has this weld in piece and also restoration parts source---hope this helps someone else---TY

Usually when that part is rotted its much worse inside and always further than it appears. Sometimes it affects the inner panel as well. Rust spots in that area are like icebergs. They only show a little on the side you can see and much wider on the side you don't see.
I would open it up and look inside before you buy parts. Replacing the roof is easier than replacing that part of it although more expensive. |

what I had done was cut out the lower bottom section from an old cab to repair the top section pinch weld area

I believe those are just sun visors, I remember reading in someones build thread that they had to either buy the roof panel to get it $300+ or fab it up.
but really don't think they are reproduced , but need to be.. fixing to pull the windshield here pretty soon to address that area,I may be in the same boat |
