Deluxe heater control and cable

Hi All,
It's been a while since I have visited but I hope I can get back into assembling the pickup.
Because its been a while I need some information on the heater control and cable routing.
I cannot find any diagrams in the Factory assembly manual

Does anyone have a diagram to show cable routing ?
(I have a deluxe control / heater)

Re: Deluxe heater control and cable

No help here, it is not in the FAM because heaters were options and the instructions are in the Accessory Manual, which I do not have. All the cables are a different length, I remember it being pretty simple to figure out. Defrost goes to the flapper that directs air to the defrost ducts, I think it is on the top of the heater box. One goes to the water valve at the heater core. One goes to the flapper at the cab side to regulate the fresh air intake. Here is a photo of a similar unit I found online, left is defrost, right front is fresh air, water valve is underneath if I remember right.

Do mean the owner's manual like this?
Amazon.com: 1956 CHEVROLET TRUCK & PICKUP... Amazon.com: 1956 CHEVROLET TRUCK & PICKUP...

Not sure if the car is the same as the pickup, I'll have a look later and refer to this, http://www.trifive.com/55accessories...0Page%2085.pdf (pages 42 to 45)

Nope that tells how to work the truck. The Accessory Installation Manual show what modifications are needed and how to install the accessories, like the Factory Assembly Manual. My truck is so far from stock and was pretty bare bones I never tried to find one. FAM has been my bible... found out lots of stuff was missing from mine.

Thanks for the images.
That should help.
What book is that, can you show an image of the cover?

Re: Deluxe heater control and cable

This was a great question! My book is a 1958 Chevrolet Passenger Car And Truck Accessories Installation Reference Manual. While searching for a picture of the cover (because I'm too lazy to dig it out right now) I found the 1957 version of it online!

http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com...es/1957cpctai/

Here's the clickable index:

And here are the heater pages:
http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com...cpctai108.html

This is going to help quite a few people.
