Spline on rear of transmission spinning in park.
I have the transmission in park and noticed that piece is spinning while it's in park.I have the drive shaft disconnected. Is this normal with the drive shaft disconnected?I'm waiting on my drive shaft to be finished at the machine shop.I've tried to Google the answer and only see arguments on other forums about the rear wheels spinning in park when the rear is on jack stands.Transmission is a turbo 350.

No, it should not turn at all if indeed in the parking mode. It is mechanically locked internally into the rear drum. Disconnect the linkage from the trans and rotate the transmission lever all the way clockwise and see if you hear a click and double check the output shaft. If not, time to pull the pan off and have a look see.

Re: Spline on rear of transmission spinning in park.
Mistake on my part.My home made linkage wasn't letting it drop into park.Next step is getting a good shift linkage kit from lokar or gennie. Thanks for the response.
