Re: Where are the 1 tons?

Found a picture of another one of my trucks! This is a K-3500 I had around 1997. Should have kept it, it was an excellent running and driving work truck.

Re: Where are the 1 tons?

This all original baby was for sale in B.C. about a year ago or so. I should have jumped on it.....right now I'm wishing I had.

This is the truck in my avatar just after I got it repainted:

Re: Where are the 1 tons?

Here's my new toy . . . 1968 C30 1-Ton. The price was too stupid cheap to pass up.

My plan is to lower the altitude, put some stupid crazy sized wheels underneath, and add some kind of throwback door advertisement . . . something that makes people smile, like the Ford Towing Corp. or something just as offensive to Ford owners . . .

Re: Where are the 1 tons?

^^^ I want to find a GMC C3500 like that. I want one to leave suspension stock, keep clip style wheels to use with the cherry 'painted '68 caps I have. I might use the centers to have 8" wheels made. I just want a good old country boy flatbed for running into town looking straight out of '68. No hocus pocus, just a good ole farm truck lookin' proud.

How about this sexy thing? I wish I could stumble onto such a find, in a barn, for a don't know how rare and valuable price!

bought a 1951 one ton last year to fix up and drive, putting a modern drivetrain , suspension, stearing column, seats, etc in it. its amazing how much time all this stuff takes. anyways heres a picture of it before i tore it apart

Well I ran the vin number through the GM database, and it turns out mine is a 3/4 ton and not a 1 ton. Lame . . .

The coil springs are the giveaway there. One tons where leaf springs.

"Lame"? I'd drive it!

Why did you have to run the VIN through the GM data base to find out the third digit is a 2? . Nothing lame about a 3/4t anyway. It's still the truck you liked before you knew.

Nudder AD 1t. I like the later hood emblem with the earlier grille.

Re: Where are the 1 tons?

Wouldn't one of those be a wonderful find today? I believe that is a GM archive photo. I'm with you on those years. I've had them in every body style since but nothing earlier than '40. I want one of those late-30s before my time is up.

This truck was on the side of the road for sale up on the ridge road last year, had to stop for a look. Probably less than a mile from me, as the crow flies. It's amazing what can be in your neck of the woods that you never knew about
