I've been looking at the Yukon/Tahoe 40/20/40 seats for mine so I imagine I'll leave the center 20 out and use my T56 where it comes out.

I'll be dropping in my 385 sometime this summer hopefully. Afr 190 heads, 280XFI hyd roller cam (230/236 duration), etc ... originally built with TPI based efi in mind but thinking more along the lines of making it look a bit more old school carbed, kinda like a late 60's hi perf 350 transplant ...

A little update.... The T56 was the BEST investment I have made yet in the truck! What an absolute ball!!

besides the trans and the shifter location, what else does one need to swap one in?

Well your flywheel is a big expense. I picked up a conversion flywheel through American Powertrain. It is designed to work with a stock F Body clutch setup.... however I went with there Road Course clutch setup because.... I Like beating on this thing too much! The 700R4 I had was the same length so I didnt have to shorten the driveshaft. With the engine in the stock location the tranny is to big to fit a low hump floor. So you will have to fab a new floor or find a bolt in tall hump. Which is what I did. Cutting a perfect floor just about killed me... but it was worth it. You will need carpet or a floor mat... for the tall hump. Other than all that.... its not hard. Just super expensive. So have a heavy checkbook. I really under estimated the expense. I could have cut corners but I didnt want to break something later or half butt it in any way.

Just found this thread, and have to say Good looking Truck.
With the drop you have how did you route your exhaust? Please post pictures if you can.

So the exhaust.... the mufflers are laying flat under the cab the I have turn downs right on the other side of the CPP trailing arm crossmember. Its a tad loud... but its tucked well. Im still running full length headers... but once I switch to a midlength it will all be tucked up in the frame rails. Then I might push everything a little further back so it doesnt rattle my ears. ITs 40 series flowmasters with 2.5" pipes. Im a flowmaster junkie... always have been, but im really starting to get curious about the spintech mufflers.

A friend of mine had spin tech on his truck. nice sounding exhaust.not real loud but still loud enough.

So a little update.... The truck decided it didnt like the distributor gear anymore.... so it ate it. I think its a cross between it not liking the big oil pump and maybe the cam walking a little. This is the first time the truck has left me stranded.. luckily it died as I was pulling into work (after a 1 hour commute). So after a trip to Hank Thomas then a trip to get tools... we fixed it inside the shop lastnight.

Drove the Cup to work today. First time in almost a year.... decided to do a new front bumper and bumper guards just to try and fit in with the cool kids.

Redid the whole front turn signal setup finally too. First time they have worked right since I bought the truck.

The truck shop being right down the road is a double edged sword!
