Can't find a front caliper brake line/hose

Hi. I've got a 78 chassis and 71 cab. I'm sure my braided caliper brake line/hose relates to the 78 chassis and not the 71 cab. So far everything that comes up when searching for the part shows a hose with different connections than mine. Can you tell me where to find this brake line?

Never seen those used in a stock application.. all I've ever seen are rubber..
But it looks like a double ended -an steel braided hose.. if you know the -an flare size, Earl's sells them
Heres a example of what I'm referring to..

Oh thanks! How do I figured out the fitting size? I've never heard of a -4 AN fitting size.

Yeah that definitely looks like a -an fitting, which is not stock. Someone swapped out your lines at some point. It looks to be either a -3 or -4 size. If a 3/8-24 bolt will thread into the fitting it's -3, if a 7/16-20 bolt works its -4. Hope that helps!

Oh perfect, thanks! This is exactly what I needed to know.

Hey, any guesses on possible situation that would have lead to someone putting this type of brake line in?

Like it was just the type of caliper they had laying around? Or it was just what they needed because of the type of line they had running from the master cylinder?

Yeah I would agree, they probably wanted to upgrade to a braided line because they are more durable, but it looks like it still took a beating so you may need to determine the source of damage. If you have a line with -an fittings, your caliper and brake line on the chassis would need some sort of adapters on them as well. The caliper would have a banjo bolt to -an adapter and the brake line would be inverted flare to -an. That's if the lines and calipers are stock to your chassis.

Thanks.

Looking at the damage, it appears to have been bumped with a cut wheel or grinder is my guess.
