Recieved a phone call and it was not good

I received a phone call today and it was not good.Went in for a mammogram on Monday,doctor said I should have one due to my age,39.Said I should come in with some news.Thought it looked good and they found a lump in my right breast,said I have breast cancer which looks like it was caught early.It hurt me and I was glad it was caught early.It was tough telling this to my mom and step dad,said they will be there for me.Work,they have been told already,said they are going to help out in anyway.Surgery is set for next month and hopefully no other treatments if anything goes well

Thank God they found it. You will have a bit of a bumpy road ahead but hang in there; my wife had breast cancer as well, but got through it ok. Take care of yourself and lean on your friends and family when you need to, that's why they are there. Just realize you're not alone. Saying prayer for you tonight!

My mom went through this 8 years ago,it was a struggle at first for her and pulled it through.It was from genetics is one reason why.

I am glad a mammogram saved my life.Mom's side of the family has a long history of this.My brother was informed by my mom and he is on board for support.My step brother,he thought it was a joke at first and realized it was not one.Starting to learn this is serious.My co worker Gus has been great about it and told me he went through the big C aka cancer as a kid.He had a form of bone cancer which his left leg was amputated above the knee at age 11.

My wife was diagnosed with Breast Cancer just before we were married 27 years ago . Her first 2 Dr's told her she would not live thru it that it was very aggressive but the 3rd Dr told her he could give her lots of good years , she lived 25 years after that and it was her heart that gave out , her Cancer was still gone . Good luck to you ,you will be fine .

You're still a baby (I am too) so I'm sure you'll pull through fine. It does suck, but thank G you're not finding it when you're say 65 or so.

I will pull through this and beat it.Being lucky it was caught early,I have a great recovery.

I have had 3 different kinds of Cancer and each treatment was different. The only advice I can give you is if you feel tired / take a nap or at least lay down. Try to eat even if it doesn't taste or smell as good as it used to, it will when you get better! Above ALL follow you Dr's Advice but if you aren't knowledgeable about something ASK until somebody explains it plainly. Take care of Yourself and Good Luck. Ray

Chevylady, I'm sorry to hear this but at least they found it early! My thoughts and prayers go out to ya and I wish you good luck with it!

I was diagnosed with oral cancer last fall. Had the tumor removed with clear margins and no lymph node involvement. Just like you, mine was discovered early before it spread. The support I received from friends and family was amazing. Use those resources and you will come out OK.
