Yeah it is kinda big now that I think about it. Its used on on mining equipment. Supposed to filter way better than an oiled filter and get upwards of 30-40k miles before replacing. It was free too. Beefy filter will stay there for now. Im too broke to get a different one, LOL.

No I like it, love to see innovative and re-purposed items like this.

Re: Lets see some 1960 - 1966 engine bays

First trial fit of my engine in my 62 build today.

Seems as it its angled down a bit much at the rear but I cant see how that can be. Anyway its back out now. I need to move the mounts forward a bit still as I didn't have the cab in quite the right position in these pictures and the clearance is now just too tight. It will get there!

To get a big block in just the right spot takes a little time. It looks like you have some sort of adapter plate between the engine mount and the block?

I got them in my last shipment John. Cant remember the make but I'll check when I get home.

I'll have to move the mounts one hole forward or I may have someone make me up a slightly different plate that gives me about 1/4-1/2" more forward movement.

But Im sure that 454 goes into 1 (engine bay that is).

Re: Lets see some 1960 - 1966 engine bays

I've never seen anything like that except on an LS installation. When I put the 454 in my '66 Suburban 25 years ago, I fabricated my own set of custom engine mount brackets. I didn't want it too far back or too far forward and that just seemed to be the simplest solution.
