That is the HD cooling for the I6 and the V8 radiator. I'm thinking that the OP is looking for the smaller I6 radiator that sits on the lower ledge of the radiator crossmember.

Does your radiator have a spacer between it and the core support ? Thats the easiest way to tell

Re: 1965 Chevy 230ci Radiator

puttputt1977,
You need to tell us where your lower radiator saddles sit (upper or lower position). This photo shows the cross member beneath the radiator. If your radiator sits down low (between the frame rails), then the lower saddles will be mounted in the square holes on that lower cross member flange. The radiator used for the lower position is the TALL - NARROW style radiator that was common in trucks with an inline 230ci.

The WIDE - SHORT radiator sits up on TOP OF the crossmember, on the upper flange. It was usually found in trucks with the V8 engine.

The photo below shows a cross member with the saddles in the UPPER position which is for the WIDE - SHORT radiator.

Re: 1965 Chevy 230ci Radiator

If your radiator saddles are in the UPPER position, then this info will help you.
You can buy a SHORT - WIDE radiator that fits in your saddles and then use these hoses.
See Photos.
The following hoses are for the SHORT WIDE radiator to a 230ci or 250ci engine with the radiator installed in the upper position.
The 7133 is a NAPA hose and fit the radiator outlet to water pump perfectly.
The Goodyear 60017 upper hose needed a small trim.
The next to last pic shows a TALL NARROW Harrison radiator that will only fit between the frame rails with the saddles in the lower position.
The last pic is a SHORT WIDE Harrison radiator that will NOT fit between the frame rails. It sits on saddles in the upper position like shown in the middle picture.

Re: 1965 Chevy 230ci Radiator

So I called Summit and ordered a radiator from them and they said it was a direct fit. When I received it the other day, guess what, it's to wide.

puttputt1977,
For the purpose of being clear, do you have the tall narrow style radiator? Earlier you said your lower saddles were on the upper rail.
I'm confused.

Re: 1965 Chevy 230ci Radiator

it sounds like his brackets are in the lower position putting the radiator between the frame rails.

I would agree except for his reply in post #11.

Ok, so your saddles are on the lower rail. You need a tall narrow style radiator.

Re: 1965 Chevy 230ci Radiator

I have one up in the barn that was removed from a truck that was upgraded to a v8. It looks ok to me, no obvious damage any where & it peed anti freeze on me when I picked it up. Yours for postage if you want it.

Does anyone know where to get the saddles? I've got the tall narrow champion radiator for my 66, but none of the mounting hardware is present.

You're going to have to find a good used set. Have you checked in the '60-'66 classifieds here on the forum?

Re: 1965 Chevy 230ci Radiator

Captain, I was able to find factory replacements from LMC. New question is will the champion radiator fit in the factory style lower saddles? The top mount will have to be modified for sure.
